Babies leave the nest soon. I have two questions...so far.

Our two zebra babies are just about ready to leave. They're getting fidgety.
:?: This probably sounds like a stupid question. When they come out for the first time will they just fall to the bottom?
I'm hoping they will know to flutter down.

:?: Will they be a different color after they molt? The parents are grey zebras but one of the babies is almost all white and the other is brown.

I know I'm going to have more questions in the very near future.
I'm so excited! \:D/

They are not silly questions. I used to worry about the same things. The babies will be fine. They will know how to fly some when they come from the nest. I had my nest in an open aviary and they were 6 feet off the gound. I was so scared when they fledged. But they just fluttered right to the gound and some even flew up to the trees. So don't worry about that. Their color will change. And with Zebras you never know what color you are going to get. :P

Good enough.
The white one seems a bit more active and a little larger than the brown one. That's the one I'm worried about.
I loved what you said about zebras. You never know what you're going to get. Sort of like Forrest Gump comparing life to his box of chocolates.
Thanks.
