Found today (Pics added)

I did a nest inspection today on a few nests that I thought were not in use, planning to remove them.
in one of them I found a young bird (at least I only saw one), maybe 2 weeks old, has quite a few feathers.
I believe it is a baby painted finch but wont know for sure until it fledges

I couldnt wait for this little one to fledge, had to know what it was lol.
took it out of the nest for a couple of minutes today.
it is certainly a painted finch and is the only one in the nest.
not sure how the pics will look, it was my first time using the better halfs new camera

That's wonderful! And I can't even ask what you did to get them to breed since you didn't KNOW that they were breeding!

there are 2 pairs of painteds in the aviary, one pair had a nest with 4 eggs but

all the eggs were clear. as I said I didnt even think this particular nest was in use lol.
if only I could be surprised like this more often
