Fostering question

Okay, so the two tossed Gouldian chicks that my societies are fostering are close to leaving the nest. When I was changing their water, one of the chicks hopped out of the nest and now the societies are afraid of it.

Is that even possible? They flew to the opposite side of the cage and were talking loudly and wouldn't get too close to it.

That is odd behavior. Are they still acting afraid of the baby? Did he go back in the nest for the night? Keep us posted, please.

Only one came out. It was sitting on the bottom in a corner of the cage scared, so I put it back in the nextbox last night. Today, neither of them have come out. I'm not familiar with society behavior. They were calling and calling while it was out. Not sure if they were upset.

Sometimes our Societies will get excited about fledglings. I think thay are telling everone else about their success and encourageing the baby. I dont' speak society so it's just a guess, but that's what I think they are saying. :D

I guess I was mistaken. The societies were just excited. I watched the cock feed one of the chicks that was out today. I would take pictures, but no one wants to see how messy that cage is!
