Goldbreasted Waxbill Fledglings - photos LOTS

Post by Sally » Sat Jun 14, 2008 7:54 pm

Just have time to post a couple of photos of my latest. I didn't have a camera when the other Goldbreasts fledged. One baby came out of the nest today, but the other one never quite got up the courage, and now they are both back in the nest...tomorrow. I took LOTS of pictures, will post more later.

This first photo is of the two babies. One had already been out of the nest, but went back in to be with its sibling.

This photo is of Daddy and one of his babies. Daddy seemed to be in charge of fledging--he was in and out of nest and very involved--Mom was out shopping!

Well Sally it looks like your finch family just keeps on growing these days  I just love the gold breast babies. They are so tiny aren't they? My pair had 3. I traded two of them for a gouldian and kept one of them. It was a male and I am going to have to rehome him so he won't become interested in mama.
I love the way these birds are so curious. Peeking in the nest all the time. Congratulations once again!
