Society couple with unfertile eggs

Post by josee225 » Sun Jun 15, 2008 10:07 am

Hi,

I have a couple of society that have been producing eggs for the last 8 months or so. And they have yet to have hatchlings ! Not one single fertile egg. I also have a couple of red-ear waxbills producing some eggs once in a while, and put the eggs with the societies, and they through out the eggs !

I had the male first, which was singing his mating dance. Then I got a female from a local breeder. A few months later they started building a nest and laying eggs.

What should I do with them ?

Societies are known for being great parents, but not all of them!
How many clutches in 8 months did they lay? I wouldn't allow them to continue over and over. Take the nest away and give 'em a break!
