is it better to seperate the male or the female?

I had the female seperated from the male for a few hours - the female was with the nest (nest has babies) - however, when I put the male back he went straight to the nest and the babies sounded really hungry so the male fed them.

Should I seperate the female and let the male with the babies?

The male and female don't fight but he plucks her back feathers when she is eating.

if the female is feedng them you can leave her in with the babies and take him out. If he is plucking her he might start plucking the babies when they start to get there feathers.

When I had them seperated the babies didn't beg alot but when I put the male back and he went into the nest the babies started begging, does this mean that the female didn't feed them?

Did there crops look full? If your really worried that the male is feeding the babies but the female isnt feeding them then you can take the female out an leave the male with the babies. Just watch carefully to make sure he keeps feeding them.
