I have observed my "tiny" Gold Breast pair in and out of a nest for a while now. It was filled with white feathers made in a small bamboo nest. Dad finally left the nest today to eat so I was able to take a look inside and Ta Daaaa....tiny little fluffs. I am so excited....I love these little guys...Check out their very stylish feathered hats!

I love the tufts of white feathers on their heads but it makes it virtually impossible to see them in the nest. Probably part of the parent's master plan

I hadn't thought of that! White feathers throughout the nest and every time I would walk past the nest everyone would squat down keeping their heads down and blend in with the "décor"! You are right. Nature's way of keeping them safe. So cool !!!
