Gouldian Brat's Blues and babies coloring up

Post by Babs _Owner » Wed Mar 16, 2016 11:30 pm

Been busy with the flu the last two weeks. Just giving you a glimpse of the the wide diversity my lovely pair Brat and Ricco produce.

In addition to the WB BBs in the picture, you will also see RH PB GB and YH WB GB. These two produce many color variations. My first year breeding a few gouldians. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Beautiful kids Babs. Talk about a Rainbow clutch :D
The one smack in the middle, is that Ricco? Or is that one of the kids?

All the birds in the picture are their offspring (including the Blues). The juvies are in a different flight cage than Brat & Ricco.

This is the mom & dad. ;)

Babs Holy Crap what a beautiful couple, and the kids... You've got Skittles (color of the rainbow!) you must be so excited!!! I am going to try my hand at breeding goulds i think... I'm getting a female in a few weeks, and once my boys are done moulting I'm gunna give them a try.... But wow, our Ricco is so Pretty I've never see that turquoise before.. SOOOO PRETTY Babs!!! (so all the Green faces mean sick, but I mean Green with Envy)

Im glad you like them :). Ricco Suave is very sexy and he knows it ;) . I really love Ricco's purple breast. Its incredibly dark. I must admit I am a weee bit sad he didnt pass his PB on to his blues, but they are very healthy and seem to be the dominant birds so far in that cage. One blue I know for sure is singing and is male.

Part of why Ricco's color looks so bright is the full spectrum lighting. :YMDAYDREAM:

Babs AAAAH hence the name for that handsome  Love it! Oh yes you should be so happy with these beautiful babes!!!
Isn't it so funny the full spectrum? I've noticed that about the colors like... why do you look so much prettier over here? LOL and it's deffinitely the lighting, My BF used to say that about my Parrotlet. When I was moving to my new condo, I gave my parrotlet to him to take care of (i just didn't have the time to spend with him, and he's a "people" bird) he would put him in the windowsill in the sun in the middle of the day and go "look at how beautiful his colors are in the sun!" LOL it's pretty cool.... I wonder sometimes what the birds see, like I know budgies have thise spots on thier faces that other budgies see as like glowing, almost in a full spectrum type lighting... Pretty cool.... Anyway.. still super Jelly over here, btw I think my hen is gong to look like yours (BHWBGB) but she is a pure BH i think, no YTB... but i'm ok with that!

Yep the lighting makes all the difference! Good luck with your new hen and show us pictures when she arrives!

Funny you mention that. I told Bill when the blues were showing their colors that "Elana would love LOVE these babies!" <3

Im glad you guys enjoy them. A fun journey this has been my first breeding season :)

Marius, you are SO right! The flu had its way with everyone in the house. What a yucky mess it was this year. :YMSICK:

You told Bill, that 'Elana', would 'love these babies'~~~ a pretty reliable prediction woman. Are there any babies, that Elana doesn't love??? LOL!!!
