Things are moving along great. Brat laid 6 eggs, all six hatched and are doing well. 3 & 4 days old!
Even the 1st hatched that dropped on the cage floor is in fine condition. #:-S

Oddly I think I only have 1 blue in the entire clutch. :-\ Thats weird.

Ricco is obeying orders as usual with Brat Belching out commands at him. heehee (sorry I got my finger in the pic)

Babs, how exciting!!! The chicks look great. My gouldian hens have a new guy but it may be too late in the season for them. They sorta pay attention to him while he sings and performs his hoppy dance. He's a black head and the one black headed female I have is somewhat interested but not fully engaged. LOL!

Brat and Ricco started right away (title was supposed to read " first clutch this season". I goofed and didnt fix it). They were molted before fall. They were so over-anxious all their first eggs were duds the first try. They started as soon as I put them in their breeder flight. Ricco rolls like that ;)

I have one female who lagged behind in her molt and is just now finished. So she will be starting late.

Yep all my kids started late this year.

Its not too late for your hens! You can get a clutch or two from them if they start now.

They are now down to five. :( Brat tossed one. I posted another thread about that unfortunate event.
