Red eyed Gouldian chicks
So I have a pair of of gouldians. The female is blue back, the male is df yellow split to blue. I had 3 chicks hatch on this first clutch. 1 looks dark so I'm guessing its going to be blue. The other two are both very light so I was thinking they were silver. While checking on them today I realized both the light colored babies have red eyes. I tried to get a picture but it didn't show up well. There is no doubt though. Their eyes are definitely red. Are they albino? Anyone have any experience with this?

I dont think this one is silver. Maybe yellow. Silver chicks have all white marking on the mouth. Also, i have seen some pictures of lutino gouldians and they eye and around it look so red.

Re: Red eyed Gouldian chicks
I read somewhere the yellows do have red eyes when they are very small but don't ever remember seeing them red once they were open. Looking at the genetics calculator it seems like yellow and silver are the only possibilities from this pair. I don't understand what's up with the darker chick though.
Maybe someone who has more experience than me can shed some light. I can also try to get a picture of the three together tomorrow.

debbie276 What about the red eyes? Have I just never noticed this before? I have seen dozens of yellow chicks and never remember any having red eyes. Your outcomes make more sense, the blue chick would be the darker one.
