The Societies had a hatch-ling appear this morning.
Sorry its so blurry. There were 5 eggs in this clutch, but the hen decided to lay two more just in the last 3 days, almost a little over a week after incubation began of the 5 original eggs.

3 more have hatched over the last week. Ive tried not to nest check too much to let them be. Not sure if that last egg will hatch or not. They tossed two eggs so im back down to 5.

Good morning John,
So four infants in total?
Wonderful little group of babies!
Regarding whatever other eggs are in the nest, I would leave them there for the time being. Eggs retain body heat from both the parents and the chicks, and serve as little hot water bottles for the little ones.
Are the parents feeding them regularly?
I can't really tell from the picture if their crops are full or not.
Keep the hard boiled eggs and spray millet coming (best food for babies).

Looking at this pic it is hard to tell if their crops have anything in them. I took a look today and saw one chick hanging out from under the Hen and his crop was looking like it was going to burst! So yeah I guess they are feeding well LOL. Thanks!

Excelent!
I always have to laugh at them when they are stuffed to the gills.
They remind me of a kid with a bad case of mumps, lol.

Congrats! Societies will feed their kids until they can't even lift their heads up. Like Elana said, it is quite amusing.

Babies are growing. The oldest is now 13 days old. I saw two of them open their eyes this morning.
The oldest is in the upper left.

Yeah that was their choice early on. I gave them a bath to use and put water in it. The numbskulls started building a nest right on top of the water! So I emptied the water out and it became the nestbox.
