I read on finch info that eggs won't incubate / hatch if temperature goes below 68

If I let my society finches have anything nest like in their cage and they lay eggs (male singing a lot)
Colder nights livingroom goes down to about 65
Would it be ok to just let them stay?
Definitely don't want babies

I am not an expert on temperature for eggs to hatch, but one sure way is to replace eggs with dummy eggs .

zebsoc not sure if tept. Would drop down enough because they sit on them to keep warm if you really don't want babies like Betty said replace eggs.The only other thing is remove nest and all nesting material

I have a large mixed flight/aviary in my kitchen in Montana, and winter temps in my house get VERY low. At night time the house is in the low 50's, My bird room has a space heater, so it is always in the 70's. The birds in the cold room, are breeding as well as the ones in the heated room. Don't think a night time temp of 65 will stop them from hatching. If you really don't want babies, remove the nest boxes and the eggs.

Too bad they don't take a break for winter then they could have nests and it would be nice and cozy during the cold nights.
