Pied Red Billed Firefinches Australia

I purchase 4 pair of these pied fires about 3 weeks ago with a package including 4 pair of pied cordons. overall these are very nice pieds especially the hens. I like the fires as they are pretty easy to breed under outside aviary conditions and I have had great success with them.
ive decided to run all 8 pairs cordons/fires in the one aviary which is a fair size and branches off into several sections so the birds can get along better.
I feel this is working fine as all 8 pair were placed in their new surrounding all on the same day which should limit fighting by the cordon cock birds if I had dominant pairs residing and added new stock.
a couple of the fire cock birds have been carting grass and feathers so they are most likely setting. I have not got a great deal of time to get these birds nesting as the weather will turn nasty by the end of may.
after that I will have to decide if to carry on with them and if so they will have to go to heated quarters and share with the gouldians
I have reared quite a few ruddies on soaked seed and lettuce alone...no live food. unfortunately these are housed with cordons so I guess live food in on the plate for these guys.
time will tell how that idea pans out. plus I will try and round up some photos.
