First time with finches and first mating/breeding - at last count yesterday afternoon there were FIVE eggs in the nest (first egg laid on the 18th)!!!! Yikes! I have my two parents, and two newly added juveniles (all society) and now 5 eggs! If all hatch and survive that will be 9 finches! Hoping my cage is large enough for them? Not sure what to do otherwise as adding another cage is not an option...
My cage is a flight cage 32W x 19D x 37H

Congrats
Well, societies are very prolific birds, if you just let them breed freely, in few months there will be birds filling the cage from the bottom to the top
What you can do about it is to give away or sell some birds to friends or pet-stores that you trust, or just take out the nests.

Hah haha hahhhh....
Sounds like you:ve really jumped on the baby train.
Seeing as Societies are as social as they are, I think you should be fine with these upcoming babies. They will all pile up together anyway.
However, after this clutch hatches and fledges, I would remove the nest (unless you want to start your own little Society Supply Buisness (as
Ricardo Ronsiny mentioned, lol)
Congratulations, and good luck.

Has anyone had good luck with the false eggs as a deterrent to breeding?
