I just happened to see Scout flit out of the nest, and sure enough a quick glance revealed one bobble head amongst a bunch of eggs that appear to be very fertile.

Well that just gave me goosebumps!! WOOO HOO!!
Anymore hatched this morning?!?

I had missed this yesterday, and this morning my wind chimes outside were all going nuts with pretty music. I just KNEW I was going to hear good news!

How's Momma Blue sitting? Is he doing his job and sitting with her?

Both are sitting like champions.
Now we'll have to wait and see if they will feed like champs as well. I really hope so.

There ought to be another bobble head diligently working it's way out into the world as we chat, but it's still dark over here, so everyone is sleeping.

Girlie, it looks like we might get some yellowbacks in there! And if Scout is split/blue you may also get some SF-pastel bluebacks as well!

Ohhh boy! This is exciting!!

Not sure what Scout's parents are, not Blue (if I remember right), so not split to Blue. These kids however will be split to Blue
I think Scout is a sf Dilute, but then what do I know lol.

All I care about now, is that they'll feed properly. So far no begging and no feeding action from that nest, while the other nest with older chicks is just a squeeking away happily.

Yep he's a SF Pastel. So some of his males male look just like him and possibly some YB hens!

Only one pinkie in the nest so far, and he's doing somersaults in there

I just deleted one little post that i sent you.

I just went to take a quick look, to see if I can get a quick glance.
Had to literally poke their butts out of the nest.

Eggs still there, no infant.

Quick look around the ground.
This is what I found in the seed tray.....

Poor tiny baby, not a drop of food in his crop, his itty-bitty tummy half ripped open

Both of these parents were parent raised.
What the hell is their problem??? Nasty, nasty Scout and Lady Blue

I hope the other eggs in the nest are not furtile. I really don't want to have to plant any more dead babies in the ground.

Oh noo!
They were doing so good. On occasions that first clutch can freak a pair out when they hatch. Wonder who did the tossing.

I have to say, I'm rather disgusted with both of them.

The poor little darling was so cute, and so very much alive. When I watched him in the nest for a few seconds yesterday, he was doing tiny somersaults and actively moving around, doing anything and everything to get their attention..... so instead of feeding him, they murdered him.

I'm not happy with these two at the moment, not happy at all...
