Breeding Season - Started OR Ended :(

I am housing 10 different species in 4 separate aviaries.

Zebras, Societies and Long Tails were fairly active copulating during Summer and I have had from 2 - 4 clutches from each pair. Lately the activity has slowed down I have removed most of the nests.

Just when I though the breeding season was over, the Stars, Diamonds and Owls started to show interest in building a nest! ... as if the breeding season was just starting!

How is it that some birds have finished breeding and others are just starting? Anyone can shed some light on this please?

What determines the start and end of the breeding season? Does one decide breeding season is over (birds need to rest) and just remove all the nests OR do you wait for the birds to stop procreating on their own?

Any help would be appreciated

Is there a specific season for breeding. I had two clutches during the hotest part of our summer and don't want anymore for the year. I have removed all boxes even my cockatiels, not that she ever used it, but the zebras were fighting over who got to make a nest in it. Removed all hay too. Is this right or wrong.

I think it has a lot to do with where you are in the world, the seasons, the daylight hours, the specific species, the diet, and the individual birds.

The ones that haven't bred yet, you could still allow to breed, and the ones that are done, I would remove the nests and allow them to rest.
