Javas, calling out to MY Java experts.....goodnews,or bad.

Post by Babs _Owner » Wed Sep 06, 2017 9:27 pm

If this is a white mutation, I will switch pairs....... I love the normals.

Can anyone call out this chick's mutation accurately? Looking for those who know their javas.

The eye looks like it has little or no melanin. I'd not bet on an albino though. White Javas are uncommon.
It could be a fawn [and/or pastel factor added] with diminished melanin everywhere.
I'd call it a keeper.

Relax girlie - I've only heard of blind white zebras.
It looks like a fawn chick.
I have had fawn societies with red eyes which looked about identical at this stage - very pretty birds, and their eyes darken with age.

Thank goodness! [-o< That scared the crap outta me!! When I zoomed in it looked like he had no eyes.

I laid in bed tossing for hours last night wondering how I was going to manage ANOTHER blind bird! I kept visualizing this cage where tons of blind birds are just hopping around smacking into the walls and each other while drifting in and out of a fitful sleep.

Soooo relieved !!! #:-S :YMHUG:

Babs
its all good Babs.
nothing to worry about.
obviously the parents are both carriers of albino, fawn or pastel fawn, opal, or silver. When one of these fawns get the red eye then you know its a pastel fawn(diluted fawn) or opal. The chicks tend to love more melanine so their eyes turn red.
Even if it turned out albino it wouldnt be an issue with his eyes. Albino javas are not blind, so dont worry.
That chick is going to be on pretty little fellow.

And by the way i got all my whites from my normal pair.
You never know what the chicks are going to look like if you dont know where the parents came from.

I know the mom(Charm) has a normal dad and a fawn mother . Some of her feathers are fawn on her back and I saw her mother. Tux the dad is almost completely normal except the one white feather on his wing.

Well this is going to be interesting. Does it look like a white or a fawn to you, if you'd care to wager? Now Im incredibly excited. =D>

Know of any mutation calculators for Javas?

i would bet its an pastel fawn. Isabels are kind of more diluted and with parents having been fawn makes more sense but hey you never know. I would not think it could be an albino though.. but will see.
