Well the kids are 6 days old now. And I got a close-up of the "light" java. I still don't see eye pigment, but very white slits beginning to form. Charm is a great mom and keeping them filled with boiled egg.

I'm trusting you guys.... Ive never seen anything like this. Still has me spooked a bit.

Thanks! <3 I'm really proud of Charm, excellent mother. Tux...ahem, he's still being a hilarious nosy mess. But Charm seems to have this on her own just fine. I'm sure once she has a bigger clutch she will set his butt straight on sharing duties.

Today you can clearly see white slits of the budding eyes on the light guy getting ready to open in a day or so.

I still see no pigment under the skin. I really think this guy is gonna have red eyes.

Exciting news.
I hope it is a fawn or pastel and not a pied.
That of course is only my prejudice because I don't like pieds. One misplaced white feather will indicate pied genes in the mix somewhere.

Yep we both like "normals"< but its a nice suprise to get a weird split>
I think its like an interesting puzzle, his pin feathers are slightly gray. So pied, or fawn , or opal or a combo.

Pretty little guy opened his eyes.... that's great news.
It'll be one of those nice mutations but there is no way it would be pied. Once the gene gets effected from pied gene (leucestic gene) loses all other mutations and with that loses the red eyes because there is no more melanine (black colour)deficiency
