A sad day

pretty sad day yesterday. my old great great grandmother a black faced white breasted blue gouldian passed away at aged 6 years plus. the last of the original breeding birds left from 8 pairs
4 black face white breasted blues
4 limes
over the 6 years she witnessed roughly 400 young in assorted mutations come and go. not so many this year but in her case she did lay once and hatched 2 young but unfortunately the male tossed the young. that was it for her.
anyway considering how short the life cycle is for a blue this way - usually measured in months- she did extremely well. enclosed photo was her I think as a sprightly 3 year old
