Lady & Tails in the other nest have their first hatched. The rest look all look viable and the egg above the chick is pipping as I took the photo. Oh boy!!

I cant wait to get the double flight set up for them. I have to wait until the kids wean and then I can move the crew in the bigger space and see who I keep from the bunch, go for round two if all goes well.

Then after the kids go to the pet store, Im gonna pull the nests and enjoy their squabbles and antics for a long time to come.

More than satisfied with this species for sure!

I'd have to send Smooshy over to take him out (he almost took out my next door neighbour's dog yesterday ).

OHHHHH!! I TOLD you that was gonna happen! Ahhh haaa!! I looked up his breed cross. OH BOY!

You should have named him BUBBA! No worries sleeping my dear, Smooshie face would head them off before their feet got in the door! You know I love my pitties. And I own them for a reason. ;)

He started earlier than I thought. No more dog park for him. He needs a good exercise regime in the yard. Give him a big ole rope tied to a tree branch, and a bowling ball to carry around .

The rotter slipped out the front door when the kids were stepping out, saw the neighbour dog (a pretty black Shepherd cross girl) and ran over to say hello. He loves other dogs, especially the ladies.

I guess she nipped him on the nose, and all hell broke loose.

I heard these blood curdling dog screams and my poor neighbour's screams, and my son's roars, as I hobbled to the scene, by which time Daniel had Smooshy in a head lock, and their dog had run to hide in their back yard, and my poor neighbour was just about having a heart attack.

Smooshy had a bleeding scratch beside his nose, their dog was fine, not a mark on her (just scared screams, but sounded like it was being gutted alive) my poor neighbour had to be calmed down, then all went back to normal (except my blood pressure).

My first girl, disaplined, jogging dog until she got cancer....She loved ALL people, dogs, cats. A Labrador (who was known for nipping neighbors) broke loose through their screened porch. It was in front of me snarling and barking while I was weeding the garden.........

She broke our fence, tackled him and they rolled like two armadillos until I lifted her upside-down and carried her inside like a disorientated sack of potatoes.

Tell Daniel to lift some weights. HAHAHA! the upsidedown method is quite useful!

Daniel lifts weights at the gym daily, but it's not the same as trying to flip 110+ pound muscle bound dog that doesn't want to be flipped.

He was doing the worst thing possible, getting in between them with his hands, which is a really good way to get bit . He thought Smooshy was killing this other dog, seeing as he was shaking her like a rag doll.

I told him afterwards, in a situation like that, grab the hind legs and drag him backwards like a wheelbarrow. It puts them at a disadvantage right away.

Anyway, back to Javas, lol.... don't grab them by the hind legs...

Now I'm curious. They're lovely bird Birds but I have to ask what appeals to you the most about the species? Am I missing out on something?. LOL.

The pancake toss works. Kinda like putting a bird on it's back and it relaxes. Our breeds need that pancake flip. I've used it quite a few times. Try it

When you watch them they are like a hookbill intelligence in a finch. Nothing quite like it.
