So HAPPY I got the outcome I wasn’t exoecting

So my zeb pair laid five eggs, at the same time as my society’s, however my female society died trying to pass the sixth egg so my zeb pair have took in there eggs.a few days ago I candles there eggs and could see nothing so I excepted there eggs weren’t gonna hatch but still left them in to wait until 21 days.

Today I cancelled again because they could hatch anytime from now till Saturday and what good news 4 eggs are fertile yippe !!!!!

Also that means atleast one egg is from my society finch that died as :
4/5 isn’t gonna be the zebs
it’s more likely 3/5 zebs and 1/5 society which equals 4/10

So I should have 4 eggs out of ten eggs fkngers crosses they all manage to hatch and my zeb pair look after there first clutch of chick

Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Have some handfeeding formula at hand, just in case they toss the Society infants.

Hopefully all will go well, but just in case it doesn't, always be prepared.

lovezebs oh this has slipped my mind I thought u just smash up boiled egg really small what’s the name of the formulae and what do u put the chicks in if they are tossed

Handfeeding Formula, is a complete food. All you do is add warm water and mix according to instructions on the bag or box. Nothing else needs to be added to it.

Handfeeding formula can be bought in most Pet Stores.
I am not sure what brands they sell in England. It is reletively inexpensive, and can be kept in the freezer for quite a long time to keep it fresh.

Give your Pet Shop a ring and see what they have available.
