Oh no bad timing

Post by Fraza » Sat Oct 07, 2017 6:09 am

If use have read my thread called wait OVER!!!egg finally hatched

Then you will know the full story
But basically I had 4 fertile eggs mixed of society’s and zeb. Which my zeb adopted as my society female died
But the male pired up with a new female so I gave two eggs back not sure weather there his or the zebs . I did this because it’s the zebs first clutch

Anyway an egg from the zeb nest has hatched yesterday and an egg from the society’s nest has hatched today
However when u looked in the society’s nest to see the baby I’ve seen 5 extra eggs meaning that the new society female has laid

What should I do because these two chicks will still be in the nest by the time the new eggs hatch
FINCHES I HAVE
Bengalese
zebras
Java sparrows
Silver bills
java x beng hybrid

PETS IVE HAD
dogs
Fish
Cocktiel
Doves
Hybrid cherry x Bengalese
Stars
Heck’s
Canary’s

My favourite is COCO my grey pearl society cock been here since the start my flock leader

Societies should have no problem with you going in the nest. With a little penlight candle the eggs. Throw away the newly hatched eggs and leave in only those that are due to hatch in a few days.

Leave in 3-4 dummy eggs so the hens dont lay anymore in that nest.

Or the 2 week old chicks will stomp out the chicks that hatch later.
