Help!
2 Gouldian hatchlings 2 days old tossed. I have put them back in the nest. BTW, this is our third attempt at 3 different clutches with no success.
I know I read Society Finches will sometimes foster. Unfortunately, I have none. Is it possible if I get a pair of Societys and put in the cage and remove the parents they would take over and raise? So far the dad is going back in the nest but not sure if he or mom are feeding or
will continue to feed and keep warm.

I do have supplies to hand feed — and tried, but so tiny and trying to keep warm as well, I doubt I can be successful. HELP!!

Some society finches will foster babies immediately home from the shop, I have had one hen immediately start feeding others' chicks the day we bought her. Most, however, won't get into the feeding mindset without first incubating eggs.

Dbearden just get a pair of society’s theres a 50/50 chance atleast one will look after the chicks of not the. You have them for next time and u can just leave a fake egg in at same time as gouldians and if they don’t look after out the chick in and take fake egg out and they will think it’s hatched

If you do get 2 or 3 societies, KEEP THEM SEPARATED FROM YOUR GOULDIANS. If they have C&C, that could spread to the gouldians, and it would be fatal to future clutches of chicks.

I keep the new societies in quarantine, until they successfully raise a pair of gouldian chicks. Then I am 99% sure they are "clean" of C&C.
