First of all. Hi my name is Sarah and I am a new member of the finchforum.
I have 2 owl Finch / bengalese ( not on purpose ), I know they will be sterile but if anyone else has this hybrid do they make excellent foster parents.

Hi Sarah, and welcome to the Forum.

I have never seen a hybrid of Society/Owl finches, so a picture would be appreciated.

Regarding whether or not they will make good fosters, I have no idea. I know that Societies in most cases make excellent foster parents (if they incubate and hatch the eggs). I have never tried Owls as fosters (although I had my Star Finches incubate, hatch, and raise abandoned Owls).

How on earth did you end up with these two species producing babies together? I would be interested in hearing about it.

Regarding hybrids in general, here is an artiçle which you might find interesting:

Hoping to hear from you again, and looking forward to some pictures soon :D .

ImageImage.
The owl Finch to the right is the dad, the other 2 are the hybrids. The dad would not leave it's adopted bengalese sister alone and they both hijacked an empty nest box. Personally I honestly thought they were just hiding and playing in there.

Gee, they looks like three Owls to me. Is there no hen Owl in that cage? Can you show us other images of the two hybrids that clearly show any hybrid features?

Thanks.

The only difference is that the 2nd bar is broken or fading, and the colour between both bars is more marble effect.

These don't look like owl x society hybrids. Those look like below, and will almost always have white patches.

I do have a owl Finch hen but it is the mother of the owl on the right. So I cannot breed them.

If they live together then they bred. Those really do not look like hybrids.
