Charm is working her magic on her large clutch. About 9 days old now, all look fed and hydrated. Pin feathers emerging. When I hand fed her first clutch (this is her 2nd and 1st ever raised on her own) I had noticed that java finch crops hold less food and dont stretch like gouldians. So Im feeling confident she's feeding the right amount.

She goes through about 4 tablespoons of boiled egg a day for the little ones.

Amazing how a few days can make such a difference in growth. Tux (dad) has followed mom's (Charm's) lead and both are now alternating symbiotically to feed all 7 chicks. I got in a quick shot in my nightly rounds. Kids skin looks pink and hydrated. All 7 are up to speed and all the same size. :YMDAYDREAM: They have plenty of room to stretch in their big nest box.

They still have a bit to go. Javas fledge at about 30 days. I got in a quick picture after I got off work. All 7 looking good! They are all mashed up against the back of the nest (instinct) which is also where my "peekhole" is so you cant see them all here.

Yes they are. And their hen is amazing! Dad had begun to feed chicks as well. Proud of both Charm and Tux!
