What what what Java’s HAVE LAID EGGS

Post by Fraza » Thu Jan 04, 2018 12:15 pm

Wow so I’ve been told the Java’s u got had two clutches this year and brought them up good and the two chicks they cane with where 4 months old and they where the pairs second clutch

And since hey have been with me I was yes feeding them breeding type food because my birds needed extra nutrients going through moly and some zebras iLL but for few weeks they’ve had there basic seeds mixed with shells and then a pot of mealworms dried

Anyway I’ll skip to point I looked in jest today to see 4 eggs in there not sure if it’s 5 SHOCK I saw the hen going in there abit but didn’t think she was laying

It's too cold to be breeding birds outside, the chicks will be unlikely to survive and the mother is put at a high risk of egg binding.

Sheather they aren’t outside outside they are in the aviary but inside the indoor bit they have been locked in ther for a week now and am gonna keep them in there until I finally get some one warm weather so it’s as warm as my house

I know I am worried of egg binding but she seams okay

Thanks tho but it’s okay am just shocked aha

@"Flight Feathers" my indoor part of aviary is warm anyway I’ve increased temperature on heater so it’s as warm as my house thanks tho

Must be nice and warm for the birds then. I have no heaters in my aviairy, but the breeding cages are sheltered from wind. ( they're attached to the end of my aviairy )

Flight Feathers yes well they must be happy then and they create a lot of heat off there bodies when they are in a nest together anyway in summer I’ve got my breeding cage to fit into my aviary when I do the extension and double it
