Hi so my other post was this about java pair surprisingly having 4 eggs and they are doing good the hen looks healthy in deed but I was told she’s a very healthy and well bred java so atkeast I know bill is true full and she’s sitting on them which is good and she’s already raised two clutches so that’s not my worry my worry is :

I haven’t fed her egg because I didn’t want my birds breeding through winter and have been keeping them inside the heater room but since the eggs I’ve noticed today she’s looking in. All the other birds nests, could she be looking for eggs to eat and shud I even give her any egg now that she’s only got one more egg to lay as I don’t want to trigger breeding mode in my other finches.

Basically I just want to know if she’s trying to find egg and if I shud give or is she just having a look around this is after she has a swap of sitting on the eggs with her male

I do not breed my Javas, but I would think that she might need some egg if laying eggs. Be sure she has some finely chopped egg shells too. She will need the calcium and vitamin D. A breeder told me they won't lay eggs if you don't provide a nest.

wildbird yeh in breeding times I give them egg and egg shells but they usually won’t breed in winter but they seem to have I’m going to give her some egg today with egg shell

She’s had a lot of meal worms so hapefullybthats helped and she has crushed shells in her seed mix #-o

With the nest thing it’s because it’s really cold over here at the moment so they need the nest for extra warmth
