Best pair of zebs I’ve ever had

My zeb pair black cheek and fawn black breast are the best pair I’ve ever had they are both sitting on eggs all day long just nipping out for food she laying really well without any struggle eating loads of oyster shell, egg ,mineral block, iodine block , she’s a really healthy finch and the male won’t stop building the nest there heads are out the hole when they sit now hahaha

That's great! My best pair would have to be my fawn split pied hen and fawn smudged white male- they had seven babies last time, and currently have 4. They seem to be really good parents and never abandon their babies.

Flight Feathers yep well this is only her second clutch as her male abandoned the chicks last time and now this male has never had a clutch so hopefully they are like urs, but they seem comittwd up to now

That's good it's going well. Pretty annoying when parents abandon their babies.

How many zebra clutches have you had all up?

Flight Feathers I’ve had about 4/5 clutches of zebras not many really my main focus has always been society’s haha but recently I’m enjoying the zebras

Oh okay, yeah I've have about 6, so not many either. My main focus started off with breeding budgies until I got given a zebra finch.....

Oh okay, I really like zebras. I think they are gorgeous wee birds that make lovely little sounds... but then I love all the species of birds I have I love having all different kinds colors and sizes of birds!

Flight Feathers yeh the thing is I love having zebras but it seems you can only have about two pairs in an aviary before they start trying to bully or fight with each other when I had four pairs they would attack each other when I had threee they would attack each other and now I have two they seem okay together and don’t pick on the starts aswell so I’m thinking that’s why I’m starting to like them more now

Wow thats weird, they usually say 3 or more pairs keeps the peace. I have a friend who has a nice sized aviairy and she has heaps of zebra finches.

When I had more 2 pairs they use to fight heaps so now I just have to always have them in seperate cages.

Flight Feathers yeh I do have a theory that it’s because one of the zebras was adopted by the society’s at a young age so she has a passive side and spends time with the society’s instead of the zebs, hopefully it goes well when I introduce the two cages knes back in as they have been swapped pairs and there pairs are now paired to each ither
