Have a yellow and a red canary which are supposed to be two cocks.
Yesterday I have found an egg on the floor of the cage so now I know one of the two is a hen. The red one is quite vocal and am sure is a cock.
Should I provide a nest pan? do yellow and red canaries breed together? Should I separate? I've never seen any affection between the two.

They can breed together like any canaries but if they aren't mating and he isn't feed the hen, the eggs are empty and I wouldn't bother.
