Will Zebras Lay without a Nestbox?

I am new to this forum and could not find from where to start new thread. Sorry for this.

My question is: What will happen if zebra finches are mating and no nest box or next material is provided in the cage. Will they still lay eggs?

It is highly likely that they will lay. My Zebs lay without a nest. Mine often lay in food containers too so don't be alarmed if some eggs start appearing in your food containers!

Mine drop eggs on the bottom of the cage if not given a nest and material, so I'd say yes. :)
