2. No, they are very good parents, not known for throwing chicks out, can also foster other finches as well as societies.

It is possible, but you need a really good foster pair, because canary babies don't act like finch babies when they first hatch - newborn finches turn their heads to the sides to ask to be fed and canaries stand up high.
