haroun I left my phone on record atachaed to the cage bars and the Dad one just started at the chicks and didn’t feed he just watched them and this is what he did with his last chicks however last time he abandoned them the Mum did feed but didn’t seem like she did enough

Maybe I am being too cautious I have left two fertile egg in ther one of the cracked one hatched and a non broken one has hatched but I’m hoping one of these two one will hatch so then they can have a second time with another chick she’s back on the remaining eggs

Maybe I’m wrong I’m worried now but one of them wasn’t moving even when I was touching the nesting material it wasn’t lifting it’s head for food and it’s crop was tiny hardly nothing in ther compare to the other one

Fraza

The phone may have disturbed the birds; mine are reluctant to return to the nest or feed if I'm watching or something unusual is in their environment. There's a good chance that they were feeding when the phone wasn't around. That's the unfortunate thing about observing animals; the act of observing can change behavior.

Icearstorm I know yeh I was just so cation didn’t want another dying on me and one did so it was proven the zebs weren’t feeding because this morning I could hear the one still alive tweeting and being fed by coco and the white one but when I took nest down one was dead I’ve put it back up and they are feeding that one again

haroun well ONE IS DIS and then the other cracked one hasn’t hatched but to be honest one of the punctured ones hatched which was really weird

And I always when I get new society’s pair them to coco so they learn how to raise chicks and now I have theee really good ones caramel coco and black and white I use these three paired to two other society’s so then when caramel and black&white have a clutch they will teach the others like coco has taught this chocolate one and the white one I will have 9 society’s that know how to bring up chicks soon so then yep that’s when the gouldians will come

haroun yeh I will let them breed but I normally I put them in a cage for a few weeks together then let them out to pick a nest then once they picked one if they haven’t bred I will stick zebra eggs in there if they prove that they can bring up the first lot of chicks I will give them a few chicks at a time
