Hey all! After 20 days of having my male and female home with me from the pet store , they have in that time bonded, mated, built a nest and allowed me to come close to the cage and watch them, flown around my apartment a few times and

They have breeded and made 2 fertile eggs! The eggs are turning brown now and they have been in there for 3 days

How egg-citing for you! What kind of finches were they again?

I have a good memory - it's just short (like... I know what I did 5 minutes ago... that's about it).

easy breezy zeeby finches ;)

I am taking pics soon within a week of bobbie and jessie and then also the eggs and the nest and cage so you can see. I am so eggcited ...they are being real good parents so far taking turns sitting on the nest and I leave the cage door open often so they can get out and exercise...good news is they never leave the nest for more than 5 minutes...and they both sleep at night in the nest ...i cover them with a nice cage cover that blocks out light but lets some air in still.

Shawn, sometimes when the parents leave the nest too quickly, they will drag out eggs (or even babies) with them. Especially if the parents are young still, they just have to learn how to be good parents. The best thing to do now is try to leave them alone in the nest as much as possible, let them settle down.
