Post by Fraza » Mon Apr 23, 2018 12:31 pm

So finchie has a clutch of 4 fertile eggs and 2 other non fertile these are ready to hatch in the next few days and I have just candles them before writing this post and one looks ready to hatch any minute, anyway she’s laid another clutch on top of this one these are about 5 days me but have already started turning fertile but I don’t think she’s going to be able to manage all of these chicks hatching so do you think I should put the new eggs in with the society’s in the aviary

You could leave the eggs and see what happens but it’s probably better to give the new eggs to your bengalese finches.

Once the babies fledge the other eggs will probably get abandoned. I’ve had another clutch laid on top of a first one too. Once the babies fledged the eggs were ditched and some were smashed.
