My Society pair was incubating 4 Society eggs (laid around May 16 to 19) plus fostering 3 Star finch eggs (laid around the 12-13-14). I started transferring the Star from the 13, one each day for 3 days. Two chicks hatched on Monday 28, but nothing for the others. Should I wait to take out the eggs or leave them? If so, how much longer? Thanks!

Leave them longer, they shud be left for 25 days before they are considered dead

Furthermore, if you leave the unhatched eggs in a nest that has only 1 or 2 chicks, those eggs help the chicks sit snug and tight, which keeps their legs from splaying out.

Uolym I always leave eggs at least a week longer than expected, as you can't always be sure exactly when the birds started sitting tight, which starts the incubation process. And Dave is right about leaving the eggs to help support when you only have a few hatchlings.
