So Kiwi started burying her eggs and I didn’t realize. I didn’t find the eggs until it was too late, while shining my light thru I saw a heart beat and knew I couldn’t throw them out.
These are my two zebra Finch babies! They hatched on the 13th! So cute!

You have some very healthy chicks there! Most of the time males are the very enthusiastic builders. You should stop providing nesting material when they start to lay their eggs because they are satisfied with the nest.

The father is a recessive silver male and the mother is a black cheek female. Both beautiful but the problem is that the mom, Kiwi, has a lame wing and it’s hard on her.
I’m just not interested in breeding. So I def take out the eggs. I know it’s controversial but it would get crazy out of hand. I presently have four society finches (one is a created!), and now 6 zebras. I have the space for all of them but I just don’t want more zebras haha. They’re so aggressive...
I have two zebras in a massive cage (one half of my Aviary), and the four societies on the other side. The two zebras that had babies are in a cage that’s 4 ft by 18 inches high and 18 wide. I’ll be moving the babies to a similar size cage once their ready. I’m excited because one, the fawn coloured one, was out of the nest and hoping around. Sooooo cute to watch them learn to fly and I love that it’s not afraid of me yet!
