Eggs in one corner

Does anyone worry about eggs being off in a corner of a nest instead of in the center? Can they be incubated / covered by the bird just as good? Should I rearrange the eggs/nest so they are in the middle of the nest or just leave them alone? (I'm guessing I should leave them alone but would like to know if others have had this happem)

I usually don't get to see inside my nests, so not sure where the eggs are at all times, but the parents do rotate these eggs regularly, so maybe they will get them back in the middle soon.

I just realized I forgot 2 Gouldians! That's what happens when you have too many birds. I was up way over 100 earlier this year, thankfully I got some sold. Right now I have 7 different pairs sitting on eggs?, so I may be back over 100 before I know it.

I would leave the eggs along in the corner. Perhaps that is where they feel safest for the clutch.

I think you could be right Chris and I am leaving them alone - no peeking, no rearranging. And if they don't hatch - maybe the next clutch will be better.

In another cage with eggs due to hatch today - I found one baby tossed early this morning. I put it back in the nest as these were proven parents for me (they tossed the first one last time too)... I just came back from shopping and it appears they are fine with it back in the nest - no babies have been seen in the cage since I put the first wee guy back in almost 5 hours ago. The parents are going back in and staying inside the nest mostly.

It could also depend on how the nesting material was arranged in the nest. I noticed that my goldbreasts built a nest that is way in the back of the actual nest box. They lined the front up high and made the depression where the eggs will be laid towards the back so i'm sure the eggs will slope to the back.

Exactly, they adjusted the nest (I built) so that one corner has a despression and of course that's where the eggs are now. I did once move the first few eggs to the center and rearranged it so the depression was in the centre but they didn't appreciate that. They re-adjusted it again so the depression is back in the same corner again.

I will not be going into the nest again so it's up to them now. Silly birds!
