Should i clean cage

Two days ago there were 6 eggs in nest.Niether gouldian was sitting on eggs,except at night.Now,during the day one of them started sitting on nest.Im wondering if i should even disturb them and clean bottom of cage,tom.

If you want to successfully raise gouldians you should be prepared to give them some peace and privacy.
I would skip cleaning the cage out until the chicks are a week old.
Not the ideal, if like some on here you are exeptionally houseproud...but that's breeding finches for you.

I wasnt going to clean it.But later in the ,morning the female came out to eat.When she went back in nest,the male chased her out.Thats whats been happening all day now.He has started doing his mating dance.tom.

I always carry on as usual. I vaccum and clean the cage and room as if there were no eggs or nest. The thing I've noticed is that in time they will adjust to the noise and commotion and won't even come out of the nest box to check on what you are doing.

I now have a pair that has laid their first clutch of the season and I think the male is really eager to incubate as he has been chasing the hen away from the nest when she gets close to it. Well hopefully in a few days things will settle and she will incubate overnight. There is 5 eggs in the nest that the male thinks it should be incubated but the hen still has more eggs to lay and doesn't want to incubate.
