Hi all,
My four Gould babies were born on October 11th or there abouts. They are still with the parents they eat entirely on their own but seem very attached to Dad. My question is this Mom is sitting tight on 5 eggs she won't let me near them but from a small peek they look dark and viable. How much longer can I keep the four babies with them once the eggs hatch?
Thanks for your responses.

As long as there is no agressiveness by either parent towards the juvies - you can leave them in the same cage.

No,
I will need to go and get one. Do you think I should have one on standby just in case?

At some point I think you will have to separate the chicks since they are setting on new eggs. How big is your cage and how many finch's do you have in the cage?
This is A problem that a lot of us have had we try so hard to get our birds to breed and then we don't have enough room for them when they do .So to answear your question I think you need another cage soon.
have you thought about what you will do with the new chicks when they hatch? :)
