More fledges today

Post by L in Ontario » Mon Dec 15, 2008 8:19 pm

Here's pics of all four that have fledged (1 yesterday and 3 more today), leaving 1 in the nest... hopefully tomorrow for a total of 3 greenbacks and 2 yellows.

Congratulations!

How do you post photos in the body of the message? Would love to post some photos of my Goulds also but don't know how.

I like the little dark green back personally, there is something so natural about him :) That yellow cock in the picture is pretty nice too though! Nice collection of gouldians, keep the pictures coming :)

Thank you all. The babies are all doing great this morning - no one went back into the nestbox last night. I expect the last green baby will be out and exploring any second now... since I'm at work. :(

Wonderful pics of the babies, I just love seeing the little ones come out and start exploring their world.

I just got word that the last baby is now out too! YAY - when I get home I will remove the nestbox.

I have seen the daddy already displaying and dancing for the mother a few days ago... and she reciprocated by "wagging" her tail and bowing her head. Sigh - I don't want any more babies from this pair. She is a first time parent and I feel 2 clutches is enough the first year. Hoping she'll go into moulting soon instead of more eggs.

Finally

Post by hfentj » Tue Dec 16, 2008 7:21 pm

I can finally join those of you with babies, one of my pair of Goulds has babies. Haven't peeked yet, this is their first to be fertile and hatch so I'm not going to mess with them. I know both parents are loading the babies up with food. So we will see what happens. Heidi
