I just watched that video myself--ingenious!! They seem to have thought of everything. Once again, the Europeans are way ahead of us in designing products to use for our birds, especially finches. I looked up the carry-on sizes on Delta, and this would be just a tad too big--24x15x9, when Delta's size-wise dimensions are 22x14x9--darn!! Of course, for flight travel, the TSA would be the problem, too, as they want to be able to see every bit of the carrier, which is why the little wire travel carriers work so well.
I would almost be tempted to get one, and take it on a Delta flight to see if it would get thru TSA inspection and fit under the seat--hmmm, excuse for a little trip?

I know a breeder that uses them and got to see one first hand. Really nice! Love the fact that they are stackable too. He uses them for shows and traveling by car.

Absolutely ingenious
That`s it, I have to figure a way to get my ducks in a row and buy myself one before the birds shows in the fall

I know right!!! All I could do was think of how easy the shows would be with those things! It is the one thing I hate about shows and that is getting all those show cages together with the birds and blah blah blah all in one spot and in the car - then they slide around - spill things and the birds are a nervous wreck in them. You have to pack so they don't slide and well you get the idea - I love these carriers! Actually would be nice for sick cages too - since they come apart and could be disinfected.

Man those things are awesome! Took a look at the price.

Not so awesome! If they could make it like $30-$50 a cage I bet those would FLY off the shelf. The Germans need to set up shop here

maybe then they would be cheaper.

I did some investigation on line and found them here as well
http://www.anima-shop.com/boutique/oise ... e.html?p=5
and here
http://www.lepuisette.com/catalog/produ ... ort-safari
it`s the shipping that kills.
I also forgot to save where I found it, but these have been in France since 2010.

All I want for Christmas is... do you think our husbands have it easy - we could ask for expensive jewelry or expensive trips!

I showed these to my hubby yesterday before he left for work. I didn`t even get a chance to explain how much simpler carrying the birds would be, and how it would take up much less space than all of those other cages. No go, he just wants to know where I am going to put it.
He also seemed to feel the need to remind me that the aviary was build so that I could get rid of all the cages

not so that I could bring in 10 more, plus carrying cages

lol I didn't think they were all that expensive when you figure each one has 4 compartments and if you buy 3 you get a discount on the price. Each compartment could hold 2 small finch easily.
Just the way it's designed to keep the mess in, water not spill, stackable and the ability to reconfigure compartments to suit your need. Not to mention the ease of cleaning it all ... that price didn't seem all that out of line to me if you travel with your birds frequently.
