I had never heard of one of these and was reading about Goldfinches the other day and ran across this info for a do-it-yourself cleaner.

Personally I wouldn't have any of the items needed to make this but thought I give you the link just in case.

Here is a thread about a DIY seed cleaner.

And here is a link to one Candace's hubby built for her.

It is much cheaper to build one than to buy some of the units on the market. My cleaner is the one posted above by Sally.
But there are some on the market already built. Here is one company
http://seed-saver.com/

I have had the pleasure of having a vendor table set up next to Bruce & Lanelle. They have the most awesome small cleaner...perfect for the small breeder or pet bird set up. here is there page...2 sizes available towards the bottom of page. I just love these people and boy do they have some seewt, spoiled birds :D

William, I emailed a friend of mine to see if he still carries the seed cleaner and ased what he sells them for...I'll pm you and let you know if he is still carrying them. He is not far from me.

I am not sure yet...It would be nice.

William for that small amount of birds...use a straw. It will keep the seed hulls out of your face. Also I believe John uses a small hair dryer...get a cheap one with a low setting. I thin he takes it outside to do that. Lot cheaper than a seed cleaner. If you use a straw tap the dish to get the hulls to the top and lightly blow it away into a deep garbage can...I keep one in my bird room.

William, this is the site for Big Bird Products...there are two sizes for the seed cleaning machine. The couple that own the company live not far from me. You can call and order or see them at the local and Orlando shows. It looks like they are signed up for the April Orlando show.
