In case you haven’t heard, there is another pet food recall. Check out the following:

Widespread Pet Food Recall

Unfortunately, another widespread pet food recall has been announced. At this time, it is a voluntary recall including 14 different pet food brands sold in more than 40 states due to possible salmonella contamination. The pet food brands involved in this recall are listed below:

- 4Health
- Apex
- Canidae
- Chicken Soup For the Pet Lover's Soul
- Country Value
- Diamond
- Diamond Naturals
- Kaytee Fort-Diets
- Kirkland
- Natural Balance
- Premium Edge
- Professional
- Taste Of The Wild
- Wellness

In addition, according to The Center for Disease Control, 14 people in nine states have been infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Infantis. The CDC reported that multiple brands of dry pet food produced by Diamond Pet Foods at a single manufacturing facility have been linked to some of these infections.

Kaytee Forti-Diet? Oh dear, I think that's what is in the feedes for my finches... goin to get it out now. I haven't noticed anything weird....

Shantel.. this letter was forwarded to me from a bird club. I did a bit of research on the forti-diet and it seems the latest recall is for the rodent foods but there was another for bird formula. here is one link I found.

Thank you so much. I have disposed of the recalled food in the trash. This makes me very angry. I started feeding them Higgins last week, phasing out the Forti Diet. They love the new food, with a little LaFebers mixed in, along with the egg food and fruits and veggies. I wonder if this recall note has reached the stores yet?

Wow.. a lot of those are top names (Chicken Soup, Taste of the Wild, Canidae...I almost switch to Wellness.. yikes)

I'm used to seeing these recalls in the Wal-Mart brands and such..
