Has anyone looked into doing the home study course on ornithology from Cornell? I think it would be great just because of where it's coming from. I have wanted to take the course for a few years now but I'm still taking courses for my degree and just haven't had time.

I've had the book around but no time to do it yet. I've just started to read through the opening sections. Speaking as someone who loves birds (don't we all?) it is absolutely amazing. The amount of information crammed into it is staggering.
I don't know what the tests are like, or if the available help is any good as I've not gotten that far. Anyways, I'm very interested in your progress and I'll post mine as a comparison.

Yup! I do. You'd better believe it! My friends fear my random science lectures.

That's a really neat looking program. I Googled the textbook involved in the course and you can pick it up from Amazon.com for $65.00 used or about $83.00 new.
It received great reviews. A massive volume full of great information.
I put it in my cart to save for later......

As many books as I buy from Amazon I have never thought of looking for it there..Contrary to popular belief I don't have this course yet. But I will soon...soon...(5 yrs later still saying soon)

I check Amazon.com for all sorts of books and movies.

It surprised me too that it was on there. I purchased it finally and it is HUGE. Lots of good, basic information in it on history, anatomy and species. I've just started to read it.

I have just completed the home study course. It was very interesting. It took me almost two years to complete. Part of the course was a little to "biological" for me - but I am glad I completed it.

There is another site for books that we used for my daughter as she is going though vet courses. I can get the name of the online store and get back to you, I believe it was a little cheaper than amazon.
