TheBirdWorld.net

Post by ranchnanny » Thu May 16, 2013 7:27 pm

I got this email today from The Bird Store .Net and its located in Chehalis, WA. The owners name is Jeff McDaniel and for some reason that name rings a bell. Does anyone know if Jeff McDaniel was ever affiliated with The Finch Farm in WA. ?

I am curious if there is or was a connection. He has some beautiful birds. I am always looking for birds that are located close to me. I could easily drive to The Finch Farm or The Bird Store from where I live.
Thanks

No I don't think he changed the name cause he is located farther north of the Finch Farm. I know some folks had problems getting their birds from him before when he was with the Finch Farm.

Just curious!

Yes...that is Jeff. I purchased 9 birds from him (when he was @ Finch Farm) in January and had an excellent experience. I have also since emailed him with questions and he has always responded. Funny...I got an email from the Finch Farm saying they will beat any price and have just lowered their prices. They must have heard about Jeff starting his own website.

Yes, it's Jeff. I received a friend request from him on Facebook yesterday and didn't know who it was at first, just thought another bird fancier.

I guess he's trying to get his name out there quickly.

WOW, just went to his site. It's says wholesale prices but they sure seem high to me.
120 each for an owl finch and his gouldian prices are super high compared to around here from a breeder and even higher then bird stores

I thought the same thing too...He will have to lower his prices to compete with the other sites. I still prefer buying from you guys on the forum. A long drive is cheaper and safer than shipping birds. Not to mention you know the care/conditions they and their fellow flock-mates have. :)

I notice that the Priority Shipping option can be a bit misleading. I wanted to make certain that members are aware this is USPS shipping, not technically airline shipping. USPS may utilize the airlines, but it is still USPS and their regulations, which do not allow finches to be shipped at this time. I realize it is done, but I wanted to be sure members were aware.

Also, I'll move this thread to the Resources forum, since it is a link to another source for birds.

It does appear that Jeff McDonald and TheBirdWorld.net are out of business.

I ordered 6 finches from Jeff a month ago and never end delivered and I lost over $545 that he never returned. I think he is a broker not a breeder and not honest. It's true!
