Gouldian Genetic Forecaster V3

Post by L in Ontario » Tue Feb 16, 2010 1:57 pm

Has anyone downloaded the latest copy of this produced by Carlos Matos? It's Version 3 now.

I loved Version 2 and tried Version 3. But in Version 3 I could not get the resulting offspring to show up in the picture frame on the right side. When you put your mouse over a line, it should show up - according to Carlos. I tried that and I also tried highlighting the line (as in Version 2) but no picture for me in Version 3. :(

So I'm sticking with Version 2. Anyone else have that issue?

Yes I have the version 3.
I havnt had a problem with it.
It works the same way but instead of having to highlight the line of the hatchlings to get a pic, just moving the mouse over that area gives the pic, if you have it set up to show the genotype as well that pops up.
The only other difference is V2 had cocks on the left and hens on the right, V3 has cocks on the top and hens on the bottom.
I love both programs and would be lost without them, it helped me a lot to make sense of what I read.
I use both programs together sometimes too when I want to see the difference that a particular pairing would make.

Liz did you try clicking the line? I have to actually click on the line I want to show up.

I don't like how you can't tell the program if the bird is a YTB. My only complaint.

I'm pretty sure I did everything to a line that could be done but I'll double check tomorrow at work as I deleted it from this computer.

For a YTB - click orange head + black head (I think)

Hi Guys,
I contacted Carlos when everyone was having problems and he fixed the problem. You will have to download it again and now to get the preview you click on the chick your interested in.

Misty,
You just have to click black head AND orange head to get a YTB

That is what I did but wasn't certain it meant the same thing.

I didn't know others were having problems with GGF v3 too! Fine, I'll upload (or download - what's the difference?) it again. Sigh

When I contacted Carlos about it (the same night I received the serial #) - he told me it was fine and no problems just put my cursor over the line and the pic would show up. Well I tried and tried and tried... and finally deleted it as I got fed up. :-$

I'm willing to try it again as I like the pic's better actually! =D>
