Has anyone read
The Complete Book of Finches and Softbills: Their Care and Breeding
by David Alderton ?
I have a book by Alderton concerning aquariums and plants. It is very thorough.

Oh it's definitely real. It is really for people who are just beginning though. Most of it is just basic information you probably already know.

A wonderful book Mick...printed in Oz of course.
Wonderful how you guys assimilated the knowledge and ability to read and write from the
redcoats.
Told 'em years ago you lot would concentrate better without the leg irons.

"Over the years I have tried many brands of softfood mixes for finches. Some have proved quite satisfactory and others lacking. I have also provided my birds with all kinds of home brands made from recipes concocted from experience, guesswork or passed down from one generation to the next.

I have to say however, that Mike Fidler’s Complete Soft Food has proved to be the most reliable and beneficial of all of those that I have tried. The quality and number of birds being produced has improved substantially. It has formed an integral part of my feeding programme for a number of years now and will continue to do so for a long time to come."

Hi Mick,

2.4 Kg!!!

I knew Russell was working on his Magnum Opus for finches, but didn't know he had completed it.

It will be great to read, but you'll have it first, so let us know what you think when you get it :D

Cheers!

Bill
