What is he?
After months of staring at this zebra finch, I decided to post his photo to see if anyone had some opinions on what mutation combo he could possibly be. He was sold to me as a "Very Lightback". Based on the black spots in his cheek patches, and some mixed in black in his flanks, I am guessing he is split for BC. The color of his wings are definitely LB, but what has me confused is the area between his wings. It is pure white, but lays over top of the wings. Possible pied?

Re: What is he?
He is definately a little cutie.
Pied for sure. As for his colouring, I would guess he has a lot of fawn going on.

Re: What is he?
Thanks for the responses, I was leaning towards LB over Fawn only because from his breast bar down he is extremely white, and his head color is gray compared to his wings...I'm going to pair him with a BC hen and see what happens.

Re: What is he?
he look like lightback fawn.
and the white feathers on his back is similar to my LB fawn female

she was plucked behind her head and the feathers grew back pure white.
maybe you finch guy was badly plucked.
I dont know about the cheek patches.
But it looks like he might be pied.
