Is there a way to identify a split for blue normal gouldian?
Is there a way to identify a split for blue (normal greenback) gouldian apart from a normal greenback gouldian? I'm sure I heard before there was a way which can work.
Gouldians, Masked grass finches, Blue capped cordon bleus, Fawn Bichenos, Bengalese.

The only way that I know of is to try breeding it to a blue or sploit for blue. If you get any blue babies, he is split for blue. The fastest of the 2 would be a blue.

Visually sometimes the split to blue will have a lot of blue feathering across the back and along the wing area - not always but it seems to work for me.

It's work for me too and I watch legs and toes who seems to be lighter, with less grey or dark areas in split to blue... but it's always a guess at the end of the day...!

I really need to start my own information tablet so I can keep all these tid-bits of good information where I can use them! So interesting!
