Hi,
Do silver gouldians have red on their beaks like the yellows? I have a baby that is molting and I cannot tell the color yet (either silver or yellow) but his beak has started to turn red on the tip. His purple breast color is coming in but not his head or back yet. If his head is bright red instead of salmon colored then I know he's yellow. His back is a cream color. I think his center nodules were white so I am hoping for silver!
Thanks!

do you have a photo of him you could post up??
if so it'd be great to see and tell if yellow or silver.

although it sounds yellow because the beak is red

Genetically blue (Blue, Pastel, Silver) do not produce any pigment color (red or yellow) in their beaks. If your bird has red in the beak it is probably not a Silver..

Agreed. Beaks of silver birds will be opaque or whitish.nixity wrote:Genetically blue (Blue, Pastel, Silver) do not produce any pigment color (red or yellow) in their beaks. If your bird has red in the beak it is probably not a Silver..
